If a bird can sing with a broken wing
You'll learn to bend when the wind blows.
The leaves may fall, but the trees stay tall
This is a bump in the road.
Don't give up, you will make it.

cheap date

anyone who is close to me knows that im a MAJOR foodie (probably why im switching specializations so i can learn more about my fav topic!! ;) ) and am willing to spend more money on food than on the clothes i buy. (c'mon, the best and i specifically go downtown together not to shop, but to EAT!!) but i had a sudden realization that some of my favourite-ist food is so bloody cheap..right now my addiction is Cherry Blasters and Stephos (that damn Greek food..i will never stop loving you!). my mum calls me a cheap date sometimes because when i go out by myself or with the bestie, i'll spend wayyy too much on expensive food, but when i go out with my mum, i tend to go for the cheap ass, yet quality, foods. so, wanna win my heart in the cheapest way possible? give me a huge bag of those sour nomalicious treats, and take me out for some $10 roast lamb and i'll be a happy lady all night!! (so glad i'm hitting up Stephos this weekend, or i would be drooling for some of that food until my cravings got the best of me!!)

mmmmmmmm!!

je suis TRES fatiguee

i totally have no clue whats been wrong with me lately. i was uber tired during the Olympic Break (but i made the assumption that it was due to being on my feet for 11hours + almost EVERYDAY and recovering from lack of sleep from the week of feb 8th because of that "beautiful" dealio called midterms.) its almost the end of the second week back at school yet i STILL am tired. i've been getting 8-9 hours of sleep, more so because my body is forcing me to go to sleep earlier and sleep longer (trying to study while your mind is dozing off is pretty pointless.) i'm going to have to talk to my mama about this one, because i don't think i'm anaemic, nor can i think of anything common that causes this odd sleepiness. if all else fails, and this weekend becomes chaotic, UBC Hospital will be getting some afro action on monday. i hate feeling tired all the time..even the java isn't helping me much. ='{ *tear*

"My biggest regret is being naive enough in thinking that what happened is a big enough reason to miss out on each other’s lives." (postsecret)

--> i must admit its not a regret though, just something i shall change in the future.

Meantime Girl

Posted by on | | 0 comments
She’s the one you call when you’re bored or sometimes when you and your significant other had a fight because she makes you laugh. She’s the one you talk to when you’re feeling down because she’s willing to lend an ear and be a friend. She’s the one you spend time with between buddies, before you find “The One”. You know the one who hangs around in the meantime.

She’s too laidback, too easily amused by the same things your male buddies are amused by. She’s too understanding, too comfortable – she doesn’t make you feel nervous or excited the way a “real woman does. But she’s cool, nice, funny and attractive enough that when you’re lonely or horny and need an intimate female companionship, she’ll do just fine.

You don’t have to wine and dine her because she knows the real you already. She’s not easy, but you know that she cares about you and is attracted to you, and that she’ll give you the intimacy you need. And you know you don’t have to explain yourself or the situation, that she’ll be able to cope with the fact that this isn’t the beginning of a relationship or that there’s any possibility that you have any real romantic feelings for her.

It won’t bother that you would text her sometimes just to say not to text you because you’re with your girlfriend. She’s just sooo cool…why can’t all women be like that? But deep down, if you really think about it (which you probably don’t because to you, the situation between the two of you isn’t important enough to merit any real thought), you know that it’s really not fair. You know that although she would never say it, it hurts her to know that despite all her good points and all the fun you two have, you don’t think she’s good enough to spend any real time with.

Sure, it’s mostly her fault, because she doesn’t have to give in to your needs —- she could play the hard-to-get bitch like the rest of them does, if she really wanted to. But you and she both know that she probably couldn’t pull it off. Maybe she’s not really your type. Whatever the reason, somehow life has given her a lot of really great qualities but has left out the ones that men want (or think they want) in a woman.

She’s just too thoughtful. She’ll sometimes buy you things you need; she’ll sometimes buy you or cook midnight snacks for you and personally deliver it in your place. She wants to be special to someone, too. We all do. She has feelings. She has a heart. In fact, she probably has the bigger heart than any woman you’ve ever known because she’s had a front-row seat to The Mess That Is Your Life, and she likes you anyway. She obviously sees something worthwhile and redeeming in you because although you’ve given her nothing, absolutely no reason to still be around, she is. She’s just your convenient excuse to fool around.
(im pretty sick of being the "meantime girl"..)

p.s. i love you

so i went home this weekend, and on the W Network, they seemed to be having an hcore love for one of my fav bawlfest movies "p.s. I Love You." man, i LOVEEEEEE that movie, could watch it 5 times in one day and not get sick of it. its one of those movie where those small details just gets ya, where you can just connect with Hilary Swanks character and how she feels at those emotional moments even though you have never been in that position. but that movie is one of those where i am forced to associate it with certain mems; the person i saw it with, how happy i thought i was at the time, how shitty the months that followed seeing that movie were, blahblahblah. its funny how things can happen years before, but that a movie can trigger the recall of those times as though it happened last week. its such an odd thing. although p.s. I Love You will always have that affect on me, ill prob never stop loving it.

Olympics 2010

sooooo, i'm UBER bummed that the Reading Break, along with the chaos of the Olympics is over. the past 17 days were AWESOME..although ill probably regret saying that when i have my midterm on wednesday, and realize i have a bunch of applications to still fill out due by the end of the week. other than that, along with catching that darn flu everyone who did some sort of downtown gallivanting this break got, it was a blast!! got to spend tons of time with my best, a few with those boys, and especially with my fam bam. i hit up a LOT of the pavilions, but must say that i LOVED the Coke Pavilion the most. who doesn't love opening some happiness?! 2 light up Coke bottles later, i probably wouldn't have gotten enough of that place if it was still open!! the only thing i still reallyyyy want to do is the zipline, which is apparently open until the end of March or so..i hope that's true!! i will miss the craziness downtown and i'm sure that chaos will never come back to the extent it was the past two weeks. lets hope the Canadian Pride remains, because the positive energy people seemed to have was amazing!! lots of walking, lots of free stuff, lots of fun. ima miss ya Olympic madness.
